Structures that are on the land and detached from the main house, can be made of wood or metal. They can be liveable or for livestock or whatever purpose the customer wants the building made for.
Barndominums usually combine large floor open spaces with residential and Commercial purposes, or can just be large open spaces with a few rooms that are off on the sides of the property but still built under the same roof. Typically little framing is required and the use of hallways is replaced by the large open spaces with bedrooms and bathrooms being built into the sides of the barn area away from the main floor.
Shouses are structures that are a combination of large garage/machine sheds connected to residential housing by being all under the same roof. The residence is typically designed as a traditional home with framing, room compartmentalization, and hallways to access rooms.
